Opening time was we're off to the races!  They do love breakfast!  Seven chicken eggs and three duck eggs, unless you count the chicken egg that was on the floor with the duck eggs.  Then the count would be different.

This morning the wind was blowing so hard the chickens stayed in the coop after breakfast until almost noon.  Doesn't seem to bother the geese or ducks so much.

At closing time all the ducks were still out, but old Merlin, he's got his way with the Frisbee, herding them in.

I watched Maezee and Jewel chase leaves for quite a while today.  They have a little bit of kitten in them.  Very pawsy.

Maezee is getting more jealous of Jewel and the fight is on when I'm trying to brush her or pet her if Jewel is within sight.  So we're taking charge and putting an end to it when she does that.  Jewel doesn't help matters with her sitting so calmly and just staring at Maezee.  It's hard to keep the assertive alpha energy going, that Cesar Millan teaches, when they are so cute and vicious at the same time.  Play fighting is normal and they do that, but this is downright ferocious.

Tonight when it happened we just let it happen.  Then I came in on the computer and Googled what Cesar would do.  I instigated an event by petting Maezee, and sure enough she got all bitchy at Jewel!  But she responded to me doing as Cesar would do, too, so that's good. Jewel's response is to go alpha and put her head over Maezee's neck.  However, I want to be in control of this in case it turns into something different.  Maezee listens better than Jewel, so I'm glad it's not the other way around! ;)  Merlin seems to think it's aimed at me and so he comes over and tries to get up and kiss and hug me afterwards.  Sweet.

At bed time they both went in their cage and got their treats with no commotion.
